THIS is the biggest news, my friends.
Community means a lot to me as a Catholic and evangelizer. Catholic identity needs culture, and culture relies on community. So I’ve launched a Discord “server” (community) and I would really, really love for you to join me there. If you’re already eager to join, here’s the invite link. Need convincing? Keep reading.
Here’s what I plan on using Discord for, and why you should join me
Live or on-demand chat sessions. Stop in for a live conversation or drop in anytime to read or contribute, or exchange thoughts with others.
Topic-driven channels. Theology, culture, movies, spirituality, behind-the-scenes—jump into the topics you care about.
Early access. Get sneak peeks of upcoming episodes, drafts, artwork, and projects before they’re released.
Direct engagement with me. Ask questions, share ideas, and help shape future content.
Behind the Scenes. I share “dirt” and secret information related to my work, active projects, and more. It’s like a backstage pass, and a visit to my “Lab” rolled into one.
A calmer alternative to social media. No algorithms, no chaos—just genuine conversation with people who share your interests.
Community Driven Discord servers are private, invite-only, and “sandboxed”. No social media trolls or other outsiders to ruin the party. You can chat, share photos, have voice chats, and just feel part of a family—one to one, or with the group.
We’re not meant to be (or feel) isolated in the Catholic experience. Let’s do this together, and share in each other’s experience. Come join up!

New YouTube Channel!
The new YouTube channel is live! I won’t be “a YouTuber” devoted to the platform. The ‘Tube will just be an additional channel to carry my video product, and hopefully to bring new [Catholic] family members into the fold.
I’ll use YouTube to publish:
• Reels/Shorts (Short video clips)
• Some (not all) Long-form Podcasts
• Short Segment Clips
• Live Streams
Stoking the Embers on Substack is still “home base” for my work. YouTube doesn’t replace it, but supplements it. If you’re already on YouTube to watch video content, please subscribe to my channel
Video Room, Just for You
I’ve just included a new video room here at Catholic Firebrand, with full video episodes of my latest podcasts from Stoking the Embers, social media live sessions, and the soon-to-come “Fire Branded!” podcast. I don’t publish all of this content to YouTube, and some of it doesn’t get posted to StE on Substack. But the video room won’t carry shorts/reels, segment clips or “video blogs” It’s strictly the podcasts.
It works best in a desktop browser, but it works great on smartphones, too. Please don’t share these videos!
